Accra, May 25, 2024 – Legendary highlife artist KK Fosu was involved in a serious accident on the Accra-Apam highway while traveling to perform at a wedding. The incident, which occurred on the same day of the release of his collaboration “Akonoba” with Daasebreba Kwame, has cast a shadow over the anticipated celebration in the Ghanaian music industry.
In a press statement, Samuel Kwame Kodua, Country Manager for Yaco International and manager of Daasebreba Kwame, expressed deep sorrow and extended sympathies to KK Fosu, wishing him a speedy recovery. Kodua also mourned the loss of blogger John Claude Tamakloe, who died in the accident, offering condolences to his family and fans.
Despite the tragedy, “Akonoba” has received significant support and airplay. Kodua thanked the public and encouraged continued support for the new release and local talents.

It is with a heavy heart that I address the recent accident involving the legendary highlife artist KK Fosu. The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2024, on the Accra-Apam highway as KK Fosu and his crew were traveling to perform at a wedding ceremony.
This tragedy struck on the very day and around the time we had planned to release the highly anticipated collaboration between Daasebreba Kwame and KK Fosu, titled “Akonoba.” The incident has undoubtedly affected the energy and excitement we had hoped to share with this new release.
On behalf of Yaco International, we extend our deepest sympathies and wish KK Fosu a speedy recovery. It is our hope that he will soon return to doing what he loves best.
We also express our heartfelt condolences to the family and fans of blogger and publicist John Claude Tamakloe, who tragically lost his life in the incident. May he rest in peace, and may the good Lord keep him in His bosom until we meet again.
Despite these challenging circumstances, we are immensely grateful for the support Ghanaians have shown for the new song, “Akonoba.” The track is receiving significant airplay, and we appreciate the efforts of all DJs and presenters who have made this possible.
