President Akufo-Addo has replaced Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang with Mr. Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo as the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). Dr. Tenkorang has been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to Mr. Osafo-Maafo by April 15th. This decision was communicated through a letter from the presidency dated April 8th, 2024, and signed by the secretary to the president, Nana Bediatuo Asante.
Additionally, President Akufo-Addo has made several changes in his government, including replacing and dismissing some ministers. One recent change involves swapping the Upper East and Upper West Regional Ministers. Hon. Stephen Yakubu is appointed as the new Upper West Regional Minister, while Hafiz Bin Salih assumes the role of Upper East Regional Minister. These adjustments aim to improve governance efficiency and promote the welfare and development of the people in the respective regions.
