The Assembly Member for Gyamfikrom Electoral Area in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region Kankam Twumasi Daniel in collaboration with National Health Insurance Authority- New Juaben North District Office has organized free health insurance registration and renewal exercise for constituents in the area.
For the second consecutive time and to mark this year’s Easter festivity, over 100 residents including children and the aged benefited from the initiative aimed to create awareness and ensuring access to essential healthcare service in Gyamfikrom.
Kankam Twumasi Daniel in an interview noted that the exercise is to create awareness on the need to keep the health insurance cards active to avert huge hospital bills at critical moments.
He said “majority of people don’t renew their insurance cards others have not even registered on the policy but the health of the people is my first most priority so I have decided to occasionally organize this exercise to ensure that when we are healthy together we develop New Juaben North constituency”.
He however entreated everybody to access all health insurance platforms to register and renew their insurance policies.
As part of broader vision to develop New Juaben North Constituency , the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency Samuel Adongo supported the initiative and lauded the Assembly Member for championing the course in the area.
Samuel Adongo reiterated his willingness to collaborate with all Assembly Members in New Juaben North when elected as the next Member of Parliament in the 2024 election to drive development at the local levels.
The Parliamentary Candidate maintains that due to the numerous responsibilities on Assembly Members in Ghana it will be appropriate for the state to remunerate them with allowances as it has been suggested by the former President John Dramani Mahama.
