The Ghana Education Service (GES) has authorized Senior High/Senior High Technical Schools (SHS/SHTS) students aged 18 and above to participate in the current limited voters’ registration. This exercise is scheduled to run from Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, to Monday, May 27th, 2024, according to the Electoral Commission (EC), and will take place at Regional Offices and hard-to-reach Electoral Areas nationwide.
Students meeting the age requirement will be granted four days off campus, from May 7th, 2024, to May 10th, 2024, to exercise their constitutional right to vote. Regional directors are instructed to inform all SHS/SHTS Heads within their jurisdiction to adhere to this directive.
This decision was communicated through a press release signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, dated May 6th, 2024.
