The Security Department at the University of Ghana, Legon, has received a generous donation of streetlights and motorcycles from John Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

Mr. Dumelo personally made the contribution on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He announced the donation on social media platform X on Wednesday, May 29, expressing hope that the equipment would help combat phone snatching and minor robberies on the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and University of Ghana campuses.

“I gave the security department of the University of Ghana two brand-new motorcycles and streetlights yesterday,” remarked the politician and actor.

“With any luck, this thoughtful act will help them fight against instances of cell phone snatching and small-time theft on the Legon and UPSA campuses. The students must be kept safe,” he added.

Mr. Dumelo’s initiative underscores his commitment to addressing the immediate concerns of the student body by enhancing campus safety and security.
