Mr. Frank Asiedu Berkoe, popularly known as Protozoa, who is the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Suhum and the Director of Elections at the office of the Chief of Staff, officially submitted his nomination forms at the Electoral Commission Office on Monday, September 9, 2024. The submission was conducted under the supervision of Mr. A. Moses and his team.
Addressing party supporters and residents of Suhum, Mr. Asiedu Berkoe urged the electorate to vote wisely in the upcoming 2024 general elections, emphasizing the need for a leader who can effectively lobby for infrastructural development and create job opportunities in the constituency. He positioned himself as the most suitable candidate, claiming he has been tried, tested, and stands tall among his competitors.
Mr. Asiedu Berkoe also encouraged the people of Suhum to reject candidates who do not uphold the principles, philosophy, and ideology of the NPP but are pursuing personal interests, such as those contesting as independent candidates after losing in the NPP primaries. He highlighted the importance of respecting the choice of the 496 delegates who participated in the primaries, and criticized his opponents for not aligning with the values of the party.
He recalled the electoral history of Suhum, referencing the slim margin of 16 votes between himself and Hon. Opare Ansah in the 2016 general elections as a testament to his strong support base. In contrast, he noted the 176-vote difference between him and his main rival, positioning himself as the stronger candidate.
Concluding his address, Mr. Asiedu Berkoe appealed to the constituents to vote for him as their next Member of Parliament, promising better financial, health, and agricultural support for the community. He also urged the people of Suhum to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President in the upcoming elections.
Additionally, Hon. Margaret Darko Darkwaa, MCE of Suhum Municipality, publicly refuted claims made by Oboafo Kwadjo Asante, the current MP for Suhum, that he used his personal funds to finance projects in the constituency.
Mr. Asiedu Berkoe’s appeal reflects his commitment to bringing positive change and development to the Suhum Constituency as he seeks the mandate of the people in the upcoming elections.
