A farmer identified as Mr. Ali Francis, residing in Sika Wo Abuom, a neighborhood near Akyem Afosu in the Birim North district of Ghana’s Eastern Region, reportedly took his own life allegedly due to distress caused by a prolonged head illness.
Known locally as Dada, the deceased was a married father of three. His family found him hanging from a tree in their home’s vicinity on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
According to his sister, despite efforts to treat his condition, which included selling his palm farm to fund treatment at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the illness persisted, leading to visits to prayer camps and the use of herbal remedies.
