The Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana has postponed their meeting scheduled on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 to elect the Presiding Member (PM) and swearing in of appointees.

Their first attempt came on Monday, February 12, 2024, but the election of the PM was called off since the majority of the elected Assembly members dispersed after the new members were inaugurated.

The meeting that was supposed to take place on March 26, 2024 has been postponed indefinitely, according to a letter dated Monday, March 25, 2024, and signed by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Haruna Amaduzure.

“Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the letter read.
