On Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, a distinguished delegation from the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly, accompanied by Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate Nana Kwame Addo Ampaw Frempong, paid a ceremonial visit to the chiefs of the Okyeman Adonteng Division within the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The purpose of the visit was to celebrate and show appreciation for the chiefs’ contributions in the lead-up to the Ohum Kan 2024 festival. During the visit, the delegation presented a generous array of gifts, including drink hampers, assorted beverages, Schnapps, street light bulbs, rams, and an undisclosed sum of money. These gifts were meant to support and enhance the festival’s celebrations and to acknowledge the crucial role the chiefs play in their communities.
The delegation was led by Hon. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Abuakwa North, and included NPP Constituency and Polling Station Executives, as well as several Departmental Heads of the Assembly.
In his address, Hon. Bodinga praised the chiefs for their unwavering support and significant contributions to the area’s development. He highlighted the various achievements of the New Patriotic Party in the region and urged the chiefs to continue their support for the government.Hon. Bodinga also appealed to the traditional leaders to rally behind Dr. Mahammud Bawumia and Nana Kwame Addo Ampaw Frempong in the upcoming 2024 general elections. He emphasized that their continued support is vital for the ongoing socio-economic development of the constituency and the nation as a whole.
