The Ghana Police Service has apprehended an individual in connection with a shooting occurrence at Millenium City, Kasoa, in the Central Region, resulting in the fatality of a soldier.
Initial investigations by the police have revealed that the alleged perpetrator, Benlord Ababio, purportedly fired at the soldier at Millenium City, Kasoa, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, around 4:20 pm. The soldier sustained gunshot injuries and was promptly taken to the Mother and Child Hospital at Kasoa for urgent medical attention. Regrettably, he was later declared deceased by medical authorities.
The suspect, Benlord Ababio, is presently detained, cooperating with police inquiries.
Authorities of the Police Service are maintaining communication with the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces as investigations into the incident proceed.
