A man in his 40s, identified as Kweku Mensah, reportedly took his own life in Assin Bosomadwe, in the Central Region of Ghana, by consuming paint and weedicide, allegedly in response to his wife’s threat of divorce.
Known as Allee, he worked as a professional mason. According to reports from Kasapa News correspondent Yaw Boagyan, Mensah had been visibly distressed after his wife expressed intentions to end their marriage due to ongoing disagreements. Neighbors rushed to his aid on April 16, 2023, upon hearing his cries for help, only to find him in critical condition with paint and a container of weedicide nearby.
Despite being rushed to Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital, Mensah was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body is now at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, and the case has been reported to Abura Dunkwa Police Station for investigation.
