Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Ghanaians to elect him as a “brand new president” rather than settling for a “failed second-hand president” in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Addressing a crowd at a mini rally in Akyem Tafo on August 22, 2024, Dr. Bawumia outlined his vision for the nation, emphasizing a series of innovative policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens. He stressed that his leadership would bring fresh solutions to Ghana’s challenges, contrasting it with what he described as the failures of previous administrations.

Among the key initiatives he proposed were free tertiary education, a government employment quota for persons with disabilities, the introduction of a ten-year driver’s license validity with five-year renewals, a flat rate on import duties, and the establishment of a Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund. Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the use of the Ghana Card as a means of acquiring passports, which he believes will streamline processes and reduce bureaucratic delays.

In his speech, Dr. Bawumia also urged the people of Abuakwa North to support both his presidential bid and the parliamentary candidacy of Nana Kwame Ampaw Addo Frempong, known as Chief Buffalo, underscoring the importance of their votes in achieving sustainable development during this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Dr. Bawumia’s rallying cry is clear: Ghanaians should opt for new leadership that promises innovation and progress, rather than returning to leaders who, in his view, have already failed to deliver.
