Accolades for Developmental Achievements and Dedication to TVET Education

On Friday, August 2, 2024, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, affectionately known in political circles as Hajia Kande, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency and former Deputy Minister of Education incharge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)was honored with an honorary doctorate degree from Elohim Theological College & Seminary. This prestigious institution is accredited under the World-wide Ecumenical Accreditation Network.

Dr. Julius K. Baffour, the president of the seminary, addressed the congregation prior to the awards ceremony, highlighting the criteria for Honourable Twum-Ampofo’s selection. He praised her substantial contributions to infrastructural and human development within her constituency of Abuakwa North. Dr. Baffour also noted her remarkable commitment, being the Member of Parliament who has made the most visits to her constituency.

In addition to her achievements as an MP, Honourable Twum-Ampofo was recognized for her significant impact on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana. Her dedication and efforts as the Deputy Education Minister in charge of TVET have notably advanced the sector.

In her acceptance speech, Honourable Twum-Ampofo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Elohim Theological College & Seminary for the recognition. She remarked on her surprise that the seminary had been monitoring her efforts to fulfill her commitments to her constituents.

Hajia Kande emphasized that the honorary doctorate is not just a reward but a motivation to continue her dedication to her community and humanity at large.
