Victory Preparatory School marked a significant milestone today by hosting its fourth graduation ceremony at the school premises in Akyem Kukuratumi, within the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana on August 2, 2024. The well-organized event attracted a large number of attendees, predominantly parents, who came to celebrate the achievements of the thirty graduates made up of 16 KG 2 and 14 upper primary students.

The ceremony was a vibrant display of cultural heritage, featuring poetry recitals, traditional music and dance, choreography, and drama performances that delighted the audience. The lively and entertaining program highlighted the talents and hard work of the students.

In his address, Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim, the Director of Victory Preparatory School, revealed that the school had postponed its decennial celebrations. The decision was made to await the results from their first and subsequent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to mark a grand fifteenth-anniversary celebration instead.

Addressing concerns from some parents regarding perceived biases in BECE marking schemes favoring public schools, Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim reassured them that such misconceptions were unfounded. He urged parents to remain confident in the quality of education provided by Victory Preparatory School and to continue investing in their children’s education for the collective benefit of all.

Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim emphasized the affordability of the school’s fees, stressing that lower costs did not equate to inferior education. He encouraged parents to appreciate the high-quality education offered by Victory Preparatory School, which is designed to be accessible to all.

In his concluding remarks, Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim called on the central government to extend support to private schools, akin to the assistance provided to public institutions. He argued that all children, regardless of the school they attend, are future assets of the country, and supporting private education would ultimately benefit the nation as a whole.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teaching and non-teaching staff, stakeholders, and the broader community for their unwavering support in the school’s development. He reiterated the school’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate and contributing to the socio-economic development of the community and the country at large.

Parents interviewed at the event expressed their satisfaction with their children’s academic progress and encouraged other parents to enroll their wards at Victory Preparatory School for a quality education.

The graduation ceremony not only celebrated the academic achievements of the students but also underscored the school’s dedication to fostering a well-rounded, culturally enriched educational environment.
