In an effort to address educational infrastructure challenges in the Upper West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Member of Parliament Honourable Frederick Adom Obeng, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Transport, has initiated two significant school building projects on 11th June, 2024. The projects involve the construction of 6-unit classroom blocks, complete with ancillary facilities, at Sukrong Awenfi and Kuntu.
Funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), these projects are scheduled for completion by October 2024. They aim to enhance the academic environment and contribute to the socio-economic development of the communities and the nation.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by District Chief Executive Hon Eugene Sackey, NPP Constituency and Polling Station Executives, members of the press, and the general public.
In his address, Honourable Frederick Adom Obeng expressed gratitude to the constituents for their ongoing support. He reaffirmed his dedication to improving educational standards and providing essential resources for the area.
The MP encouraged continued support for the Nana Akufo-Addo administration and urged voters to back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 general elections to sustain socio-economic progress.
