The National Security team visited four districts and 15 schools in the region. They also paid courtesy calls to the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abukari II, in Yendi, and the Paramount Chief of Tolon, Major Rtd. Sulemana Abubakari.
The team engaged various groups, including churches, mosques, market women, the clergy, youth, and other stakeholders, to educate them about the campaign. Kester Osei Mensah, a team member, emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in national security and the reporting of suspicious activities.
Mensah highlighted the focus on Senior High School students, aiming to instill a culture of vigilance in them. “This will aid them in identifying and reporting suspicious activities for authorities to take action,” he said.
He praised Ghanaians for their active participation in the campaign but urged them to refrain from making prank calls to the help center. “Prank calls hinder our ability to identify genuine calls, so we plead with Ghanaians not to abuse the system,” Mensah added.
The Overlord of Dagbon and the Paramount Chief of Tolon expressed their support for the campaign, recognizing its importance for national security and committing their palaces’ support to ensure regional and national safety.
