Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, urges the youth to throw their support behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasizing his transformative vision for Ghana’s future.
Speaking at the Career Conference and Alumni Engagement 2024 at All Nation University in Koforidua, Eastern Region of Ghana, Dr. Agyemang highlighted the significant investments made by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led government in the education sector since 2017, which have positively impacted the lives of many young people.
He underscored the importance of digital talent development, echoing Vice President Bawumia’s advocacy for preparing youth for the fourth industrial revolution. Dr. Agyemang emphasized the pivotal role of education in empowerment, praising President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) education policy, which has equipped over 5 million Ghanaian youth with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a changing world.
He echoed Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to training one million youth to drive the country’s digitalization agenda, emphasizing the need for a curriculum that prioritizes STEM, robotics, artificial intelligence, and vocational skills to meet the demands of the job market.
Dr. Agyemang urged the youth to recognize their collective influence as the majority demographic in Ghana and to actively support Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy for president, citing it as a decision that will shape the nation’s future.
He stressed the importance of soft skills alongside academic knowledge in navigating the complexities of the modern workplace, urging youth to embrace opportunities and navigate career paths for the progress and sustainability of society.
